"looking for that next hit'!

I know this title, some might say, that brother smoking crack! No way. I'm talk about songs and one hit wonders, all kind of good stuff.

There was a group called Graham Central Station. The founder of the group was Larry Graham, former bass player, from the group "Sly and the family stone". Thery was fire. In 1970 the group was formed and they reign for 6 years. In 1977, they did another albums, with such songs as "Hurricane" and "My radio , sure sound good to me". They ask a member years laters, why the break up, she said, the first 3 albums was great! They after that they couldn't create another good album or a big hit, so the group broke up.

In 1979 , Karen Carpenter did an album, the critics and her brother thought the album was a flop, and it didn't get released! Many years after her death in 1983, the albums was released. I got it and listen to it, the albums could had been better, there was atlease 3 songs, that was tweaked that could had been a hit. A lot of people didn't like this album. He brother was in rehab for pills, and she wanted to do something without him. He was hard on the albums, she felt like he betrayed her and she gave up.. For the hit they had created, her brother wrote the songs and arrange the music. I miss her, rest her soul! With a little extra, she could had a hiit or two!

The group "The Temptations " started out in 1960. it took 1964 for them to have their first hit! then the group took off them there. there was another group called "The 4 Tops", they started off in 1953, and ithey didn't get their 1st hit til 1964. It took them years get thie 1st hit! Writing a hit is a hard things do. I admire them, it's not a eay thing!

Here are some artist who was literly "A one hit wonder"!

* Looking Glass- Brandy

*Alicia Bridges- I love the Nightlife

* Stair Steps- O-O-H

* Wild Cherry- Play that Funky Music (White )

*Pilot- Magic

* Maurice Williams & the Zodiac- Stay (later again became a hit when the 4 seasons sung it.)

* Procol Harum- A whiter shade of Pale. I love this song!

* Vicki Sue Robinson- Turn the beat around.

I'm not player hating for I like all of the songs! Some of these songs, I still listen , this day. This prove it's hard stay in the music game! I would be a one hit wonder!

A Whiter shade of pale is one of my favourite songs.

This was a good nightclub song in the 70's. Gloria Estefan redid it later for a movie.
